Brighton multi-instrumentalists Richard Sturges and Rob Weaver – aka Tuska – love everything scuzzy and 70s. Riding high on the wave of modern rock that takes the decade’s musical highs as its inspiration (kick started by the likes of Temples and Tame Impala), they’ve just shared their mighty fine debut track via The Line Of Best Fit.
‘Fine’ feels like a bit of an understatement, as it combines bleached indie pop with its retro influences with aplomb – they recently paid tribute to Marc Bolan on their Facebook page and you can indeed hear a little bit of T-Rex skulking under there. The track also features a special guest in the form of Jay Bone, drummer with Carl Barat’s newest band The Jackals.
We expect this pair might do just fine.
‘Fine’ is released as a free download on 4th December, and if you’re in London you can catch them at Proud Camden on 8th November and at the Old Blue Last on 11th December.
