The Australian music scene is bursting with talent at the minute and the return of Brisbane six-piece Yuuca half a year after the release of their first song ‘Breathe,’ in the form of their buoyant new track ‘Melt,’ is a welcome addition to the party.
‘Melt’ will probably turn you from a solid ice statuette into a dribbly puddle on the floor faster than you can say the title. It’s yet another slice of indie dreampop that harks back to The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart or even The Joy Formidable but with a light touch that feels energetic and youthful. Soothing vocals combine with jittering drums and a slightly off-centre beat to create a pastel-hued piece of pop that’ll get stuck in your head for days to come.
