Watch: Bad Sounds ‘Avalanche’ Video Crash Lands

If ever a band name was the absolute antithesis of the music they create, it’s Bad Sounds. Far from displeasurable dins, this Bath based five-tet make a rather agreeable array of aural pleasure. Regular listeners to Spark Undiscovered will probably be aware of their impressive last single I Feel, but now the guys and gals of Bad Sounds return with a brand new single and a pretty spacey video to boot.

‘Avalanche’ is the (good) sound of a band expanding, constantly shifting and shaping their sound – even mid-song. It shifts from 70’s psychedelia, to 90’s Britpop-tinged-grunge, with some 80’s keys thrown in for good measure. Fusing mellow vocals, fuzzy guitars and wonky pop hooks, it all culminates in an insanely addictive chorus that will probably never leave your head.

Check out the Hotline Bling meets The Brady Bunch meets Star Trek video too.

If you’re heading to Glastonbury, you can catch them on the BBC Introducing on Friday 24th June. If, like me, you aren’t, you can probably just watch the video again.
